Field Notes

On the west side of Rte 83, this was originally a tobacco barn. It has been recently renovated on the outside, but the original interior framing and structural materials are still in use. Its roof is asphalt, topped with a wood-shingled cupola, and its wooden siding has been returned to its natural color. The owners raise and sell vegetables and sheep. The property also contains two other small one-story structures, one a pyramid-roofed shed in which vegetables to be sold each day are stored, the other a shallow-pitched-roof style also used for storage. Both have asphalt roofs and red-painted wooden siding, and are well-maintained.
