Typology: bank barn Historic significance: This is another barn on Smith Road, which was layed out and completed in 1883. The house dates to 1875, before the road was put in, but it is only a few yards from the main road, New Road, which was begun in 1867. The barn is rather small, but the property is large enough to have had an additional "large" barn. Smith Road was named for the Smith family, who had a large farm in this area.
